The Case Of Painful Hands

Thumb braces
My thumb is having discomfort lately. I am not sure why, but it feels like i need braces like the picture about. Because of my job that uses alot of computers, last time i developed severe wrist pains that causes acute pain whenever I tried to hold something. It was so bad that I had a hard time holding my cup up!! Now my thumb is acting up!!

I googled and found something almost similar to my current conditions. And I thought only old people will have it only!! Man, I feel so old sometimes ^_^.

In recent years, the incidence of autoimmune diseases is on the rise in the developed worlds and the first question people will usually ask is, “what is Rheumatoid arthritis”? Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic systemic painful, disabling disease of inflammatory type with autoimmune pathology, mainly affecting joints, but also affecting other parts of the body. At times it is easy to answer from the physician point with regards to rheumatoid arthritis, but it is difficult to make people understand what exactly it is!

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic disorder affecting the synovial joints and complicating other systems of the body like lungs and heart if not adequately treated. The main concern of the disease lies in the pain caused by the inflammation of the capsule around the joints and disabling the joints when it is progressed. The joints become fibrosed and fused due to ongoing inflammation and there will be limitation of the movement in the later part of the disease.

Take care of your ligaments!!
Though the inflammation is a chronic process, there can be remissions in the active disease and the symptom free period of months to years can exist. The hallmark symptom of RA is early morning stiffness which lasts for an hour. Other symptoms include fatigue, weight loss, mild fever, swelling and pain of the joints. Usually, it affects more of the smaller joints and painful subcutaneous nodules called rheumatoid nodules may arise. Treatment of RA can be with drug medications or in severe cases, surgical procedures. The disease cannot be cured and only the symptoms can be controlled to prevent further complications. KLCI Extreme Bleeding, An Opportunity In A Crisis 2013?

Posted by Kris | Wednesday, August 28, 2013 | , | 5 comments »

KLCI today
KLCI 28 Aug 2013

The much desired relief the 'inverted hammer' has appeared today. KLCI has lost like 120 points from the top of 1,800. Majority of counters have lost significantly and touch new lows for the year.

Gold & crude oil + palm oil is now on the rise again since the US is on another war-path AGAIN. This time it is against the Syria regime.

This bleeding is the most significant downtrend for the year. Alot of smart money are waiting to buy cheap.

People like @maveric will be greedy when the fear is high since this will be the opportunity to buy low..lol. The problem is when?

I found something interesting on the inverted hammer phenomenon. Will send out in 1-2 days to those in my email subscription.

KnowThyMoney Make Money Online #2 Series: Web2.0 Tools Usage Model

Posted by Kris | Sunday, August 25, 2013 | , | 0 comments »

This is the 2nd series on making money online that spun from here:

Web2.0 Tools
Web2.0 Tools

From Webopedia,

Web 2.0 is the term given to describe a second generation of the World Wide Web that is focused on the ability for people to collaborate and share information online. Web 2.0 basically refers to the transition from static HTMLWeb pages to a more dynamic Web that is more organized and is based on serving Web applications to users. Other improved functionality of Web 2.0 includes open communication with an emphasis on Web-based communities of users, and more open sharing of information. Over time Web 2.0 has been used more as a marketing term than a computer-science-based term. Blogs, wikis, and Web services are all seen as components of Web 2.0.

So the trick here from my experience is what I called " KnowThyWeb2.0Tools "

Every Web2.0 Tools have its own distinct advantage and 'dominance' in certain type of media/article that you want to spread to the whole world.

For example, Facebook might not be a good way to spread your videos especially when you are trying to monetize the videos that you take effort and time to create. The correct place would be Youtube or some other video sharing portal that offers ad placement.

If you just google "KnowThyMoney" at google search, you will see that I have an active participation of Web2.0 website & tools as I like to interact with other people thru these channels and also experimenting with their mobile apps. It also keeps me abreast with the latest technology trends.

Web2.0 tools are abundant that I don't want to list it down here. It can be very boring. The interesting part is how to use it to your advance in your quest to earn money online.

KnowThyMoney Make Money Online #1 Series: Blogging

Posted by Kris | Wednesday, August 21, 2013 | , | 3 comments »

When I started www.KnowThyMoney.com some donkey years ago, I did not have any monetizing intentions aka I was NOT writing to make money. It is more or less my personal blog on my journey towards financial freedom. Hence you still see some side of personal thoughts and endeavors along the way. Not to say sometimes, I do talk about my religious thoughts. All in all, www.KnowThyMoney.com is not 100% about money!! (well, money is NOT everything but something).

Why I do this?

So this post will the 1st series of posts about making money online. I decided to write this series so that the younger generations especially Malaysian know that the world is an oyster for them to make money with the advent of internet in our daily lives.

Dedicated especially to my junior engineers whom are always lamenting that they starting salary is too low to buy property. (Which I think their salary is actually quite high as compared to other fresh grad from other fields)

Well, if many of you had known, I like to read ALOT. And I read every night before I go to sleep. (Fun Fact :I once read like 100 thesis papers from top to bottom to complete my engineering postgraduate thesis).

I don't called myself a GURU in making money online, but I do like to share interesting ideas & my train on thoughts on the subject matter. And as an trained Engineer, I like to reverse engineer stuff and get to the bottom on how things work and tick. That is why I become an engineer , as I am an analytical person.

Okey, back to the topic:

Make Money Online #1 Series: Blogging

I think personally, the main problem with this is that, there is a lot of material surfacing on the internet and alot of paid talks on how to make money thru blogging, until there is an information overload.

The basic idea is very simple actually:

Besides the general route of writing good & unique content and monetizing it with google adsenses, there are alot of more method of making money thru it and you need some knowledge on how to profit from it. The idea is simple just the matter you execute it makes a difference. As in engineering world, flawless execution is key to success.

Things you need to know:

1) Where & how to create a blog. What to write.
- Basically, I encourage you to write about something you are passionate about so that you always have ideas on posts to write about. Alot of people lament that they don't know what to write about!! Hobbies are a good thing to write about.

My hobbie - Make money of course :D

1) How to use Google Adsense, or other advertisers in your blog

Besides Google, there are lot of other options. Especially those that got banned by Google due to multiple reasons.

2) Web2.0 Tools & How To Use It (#Series 2)

Which blogging network are available to join to enable a bigger reach to your audiences?  Which type of information is best disseminate thru different types of channel.

Social media is a very big space to explore so you are able to minimize your effort and get the greatest effect.

3) Ways To General Viral Traffic (#Series 3)

Once you have a blog or a website, you need to get traffic to your site especially when you are new. So what are the methods available to do so??

Viral traffic is the heavily coveted by online marketers as these will bring in visitors to your website like wild fire!!

4) SEO Techniques (#Series 4)

If you had not heard of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), then you are living under the rock in terms of online literacy. This is very important since organic searches thru GOOGLE can draw alot of traffic to your site.

5) Joining affiliate marketing network & how to make it work (#Series 5)

Good for newbies who just started to dabble in making money online. However for those mastering it, affiliate marketing methodology can be VERY VERY lucractive.

6) How to monetize by creating your own product. Where to sell? (Series #6)

Create your own UNIQUE product and start selling them. For example, Clickbank is very huge and profitable in the US, it is one of the good places to sell your online products.

There is another method though that is being sold by seminars 'Gurus' where you need to be pay thousands of ringgit to attend in Malaysia.

There are so many resources on this that I don't think can put everything single one of them in my blog posts.

So join me at my newsletter subscription & I will TEACH you how to get these informations above & MORE for FREE:

Just subscribe here at my KnowThyMoney's MoneyIdeas newsletter.http://eepurl.com/cYFkU

As with the In The Pursuit Of Dividend Stocks In Malaysia subscription to get the full article, please give me some time before I send out the information above, due to unexpected overwhelming response, I will need to manually send out these from my email mailing system for new & existing subscribers. I will try my best.

Make Money In A Nursing Career?

Posted by Kris | Tuesday, August 20, 2013 | | 1 comments »

Nurses

When you hear about nurses, the first thing you hear about is working in a hospital or clinic. But there is an alternative path for nurses that will enable to earn significant amount of money without much higher education aka a degree. The niche job market that I am talking about becoming a home health aide especially in the foreign countries like the US or even the Middle East. Especially in the Middle East, experienced nurses are head-hunted and handsomely compensated to work in the health and elderly care industry.

Hence becoming a nurse can be very financially rewarding oversea.

P.S Not to mention that healthcare is a very defensive industry aka people still need doctor and nurses even though the economy tank like crazy like what happen to our stock markets today. (~ -2%)

A Nursing Career That Don't Require A Bachelor's Degree??

Long ago when we are so sure that we will definitely get the dream job right after graduation day, unlike now, where we have to struggle and compete intensely with other graduates just like us for limited jobs and future careers. Well the good news that jobs that don’t need your bachelor’s degree do exists, particularly in nursing careers.

Students loans that needs to be paid, grown up lifestyle that we need to keep up with, and perhaps getting married is what worries graduates around the world. The expectation is too high towards us and it’s sure to pressure the hell out from you.

Becoming Home Health Aide

If you have an interest in the nursing field, you can apply for the job without any degree at all. Demands for this job increases as the baby boomer population is aging to take care of senior citizens with medical skills. Can also be called as homemaker attendant and personal health aide, a home health aide employed by the family will supervise the general health of these individuals as well as other various medical-related tasks such as checking vitals, administering medications in timely manner, and assisting medical equipment should their employers have one.

Generally, anything that requires by the family to keep their members healthy and keeping them from being moved to nursing home instead.

To be a home health aide, certain certifications are available and you may be required to specific training for you to be fit on the job. In some states, you may need additional training.

Outlook for the job is excellent, where the growth for demand is expected to be more than 50%. The job prospect is fast and you have ample chance to take your career into the next level such as medical technician or certified nurse. Turnover of being a home health aide is often high, mainly because low skill requirements and high demand of mentally and physically.

The appealing nature of being a home health aide is you don’t need to spend another four year for a medical degree. Apart from essential medical training, you need to be calm, cheerful, motivated, and compassionate about helping others and if you are the kind of person, this job can be extremely rewarding as you are making a wonderful impact onto others in their life and when nearing their death, being in their company most of the time.

On the downside, since each family is unique, it can be challenging if you are not working favourable environment. And the job scope can be varied, depending on the person’s health you are taking care of and it can even include from washing to cooking, all according to doctor’s treatment plan.

Make Money From Selling Macdonald Happy Meals Toys

Macdonald's Happy Meal Money Making Machine

Most fresh graduates that I meet always argue that finding ways to make good money is very difficult as there are a lot of competitions out there. Well there is always competitions out there though so that cannot be avoided.

But the main problem that was lamented is that they are not able to identify the idea/products to sell to make money. They don't know what to sell! Well, my philosophy as long as there is supply & demand there is money to be made. :D

Take for example there is a good demand for Macdonald Happy Meals Toy full collections. As seen from the previous Minion Happy Meal phenomenon, (see what some minion fans are willing enough to do) the smurf series in Malaysia should see more/less the same craze. (While I think that smurf is not so as popular and cute as the minions).

As evident of the popularity in Malaysia (US has not yet seen this type of craze), MacDonald took the advantage by limiting each customer to buy 2 Happy Meals for 2 Toys per single receipt. Gone are the day when you can just buy the Happy Meal toys in Malaysia. So you know that there is a money making trend here for both MacDonalds and Happy Meal toy collectors.

I will end this post by asking people to not crazily buy out of stock all the smurf Happy Meal toys. NO, I am NOT pursuing the route of making money thru Happy Meal toy collection sales, I  don't have the time to queue up every 3 days for it. For me TIME=MONEY=$$$, I am going for bigger fishes in other money making ideas.

I am just buying to catch a bigger fish mermaid. A 51kg mermaid to be exact. ^_^

Happy weekends and you might see me in a Macdonald's store.. Lol.

How To Profit From Interest Rate Hike In Malaysia

Posted by Kris | Sunday, August 11, 2013 | | 4 comments »

Keep quiet and calm.

A lot of people are speculating that our Bank Negara in Malaysia-Land will increase the interest rate by end of the year. They are 2 reasons that I could think of on top of my head:

1. Malaysia was given a negative outlook (Bolehland chalked up alot of debts) by Fitch, hence foreign money will start to exit their investments. So in order to attract their attention, interest rates must go up on our debt securities.

2. The need to stem the 'bubble' in our property market and also inflation. We all know that property is a bubble as most degree holding fresh graduates cannot afford a decent property and also the talk of the much dreaded 2-generation loan where you and your off-springs will need to pay for the loan. I heard this is quite normal in Hong Kong but in Malaysia?? We are still cheap comparatively to Hong Kong & Singapore. Even in Singapore, there is no such thing which is largely thanks to their government policy on HDB ownership, etc.

We are still too soon to see any success story from PR1MA plan, where i think even that is NOT affordable and the banks are unwilling to loan out the money. So how does the people 'afford' PR1MA in the first place? Unless, our government decides to do setup a government controlled financial institution like Fanny & Freddie Mae. With the lessons learn from the US, it might be a very very bad ideas (scrap that idea please) especially our Bolehland regulations & enforcements can be very weak.

So the question on my mind is to "How To Profit From Interest Rate Hike". Where there is danger, there are opportunities. "MaoXian".

I have a few ideas playing inside my head and still firming up my thoughts. Always be prepared to catch that opportunity that arises. Now I know why there are things called 'Trade Secret', that special edge over your competitor that is scrambling for the same piece of pie.

*NO, putting your money into Fixed Deposit for the higher interest rate is not a good idea.

*I will not consider to buy more properties in the coming years (unless there is 'firesale'), even though a lot of Gurus out there are shouting BUY BUY BUY with no clear plan of an exit strategy.

Perhaps they know something I don't know. But I know myself financially.

Financial Blogs That KnowThyMoney Follow 2013

Posted by Kris | Sunday, August 04, 2013 | | 3 comments »

zhang ziyi reading book
Zhang Zi Yi?
I am in the process of updating my personal financial blog lists that I read constantly to keep me updated on the latest trend and also to predict the coming trend in our ever challenging economic outlook. (Inflation is seriously very high year by year with no pause in sight. Maybe an interest hike end of year might do some dampening?)

The reason for me updating are as follows: (still updating)

1) The blogger went AWOL for a very long time. Aka no updates.Looks like some financial bloggers just fizzled off. Perhaps there is no monetary returns for doing so. More on this to the point 2.

I don't make money off my blog but I still write , simply because I like personal finance topics and in some way annotate my journey to achieve financial freedom.

2) Here is point number 2. I had to remove some finance blogs on my list simply because they restrict their blog readership to invitation only. The reason to do so i think is simply because they make their blog PAY-PER-VIEW aka you need to pay some membership fee to access their blog posting. Usually these blogs are related to stock analysis/picks.

Oh well, at least these bloggers continue to blog because of the monetary returns. Good for them. ^_^

3) The good thing is that I found more noteworthy free, new, active financial bloggers out there that is willing to share their knowledge for free for now at least before they become 'too popular'. Or I am just being pessimistic since nowadays nothing is free.

So the old must go so that the new can come in.
